Atip Latipulhayat is Professor of international law and Head of the Department of International Law at the Faculty of Law, Padjadjaran University. He obtained his first degree of law (S.H.) from Padjadjaran University Law School in 1990, majoring in international law. He obtained his master of laws (LLM) in 2000 and Ph.D 2008 from Monash University Law School, Australia. Atip has also followed some training in the area of international law conducted by international institutions such as, The Hague Academy of International Law, International Ocean Institute, and the UN Office. He is also a member of International Institute of Space Law and takes part in several international conferences on this area. From 2016 to 2019 Atip was member of the Hague Working Group on Space Resources for the establishment of international framework on space resource activities. He teaches international law, air and space law, the law of international treaty, human rights law, and theory of law. He publishes articles especially in the area of international law and air and space law in both national and international journals. In addition to his teaching position Atip acted as Director of the Indonesian Centre for Air and Space Law (ICASL) – Padjadjaran University, Chief Editor of Padjadjaran Law Journal, and the President of International Law Association (ILA) Indonesia Branch. In this capacity, he organized a number of international conferences on topical development in international law, air and space law.
