Irawati Handayani is a lecturer at International Law Department Faculty of Law University of Padjadjaran, Bandung Indonesia since 2003. She graduated from University of Padjadjaran in 2003 (Sarjana Hukum – LLB), Master of International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (LL.M) from Raoul Wallenberg Institute-Lund University in 2007 and Doctoral Degree (Dr.) from University of Padjadjaran in 2016.
Her major expertise is International Law and International Human Rights Law with particular interest in Refugee Law. Besides, she is also teaching several subjects in International Law, namely: Public International Law, International Law of Treaty, International Humanitarian Law, International Human Rights Law, Case Study of International Law and International Settlement of Dispute.
She has conducted several researches as well as published articles on issues of Responsibility to Protect (RtoP), Jus Cogens, Justiciability of Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, Migration and Refugee Law with focus in ASEAN. In addition, she is a holder of Hague Academy Certificate of Public International Law and member of International Law Association-Indonesian Branch.
Currently she serves as a Managing Editor at Padjadjaran Journal of Law (http://jurnal.unpad.ac.id/pjih).
